The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service

Jealott’s Hill Community Landshare was honoured to receive from the Lord Lieutenant of Berkshire, James Puxley, the Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service. Jealott’s Hill Community Landshare was one of 187 charities, social enterprises and voluntary groups to receive the prestigious award in 2015.

The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service is the highest award given to volunteer groups across the UK to recognise outstanding work in their communities. The awards were created in 2002 to celebrate the Queen’s Golden Jubilee and winners are announced each year on 2 June – the anniversary of the Queen’s Coronation.

The RHS, Royal Horticultural Society, promotes It’s Your Neighbourhood awards, which is a campaign to support volunteer led community groups, to clean up and maintain their community environment.


Jealott’s Hill Community Landshare has entered since 2012, receiving Level 5 Outstanding, for 5 consecutive years including 2018.

Group plot holders also enter, receiving awards from Level 1, to Outstanding with Distinction.

JHCL has been fortunate to be nominated for, and receive Team of The Year in April 2016, and Charity Of The Year in April 2017.
