Young people who are Not in Education, Employment or Training (NEET) or are part of a supported education programme with a partner organisation can spend time at Jealott’s Hill Community Landshare as volunteers and benefit from a varied learning experience that will equip them with a range of employment skills.
Many of the volunteers have described their work at the Landshare as being extremely fulfilling. Not only do they get to know new people, learn new skills for free and increase their chances of finding work, but people have reported a strong sense of feeling valued and appreciated whilst feeling rewarded by doing something that will benefit the local community.
A group of young people aged 16-25 who have regularly volunteered at the Landshare say they gained:
- Practical working skills
- Experience of hard work to add to their CVs
- Brand new work related experience
- Learning from people who are experienced in their field
- Working as a team
- Social skills for work
- Learning to work with people of different ages
- A feeling of being valued and appreciated
- Boosted self esteem
- Boosted confidence
Do you work with NEET or risk of NEET young people? Your group may find great benefits in spending some time at the Landshare, much like our many current volunteers. Depending on your requirements a small cost may be incurred.
Please get in touch with us if you feel this is something you wish to discuss further.
