JHCL has bagged a massive cash boost from the Tesco Bags of Help Initiative.

The supermarket teamed up with Groundwork on its Bags of Help initiative, for a grant of £12,000, £10,000 and £8,000 – all raised from the 5p carrier bag levy – being awarded to environmental and green space projects.

Three groups in each of Tesco’s 416 regions were shortlisted to receive the cash award, with the group with most votes gaining the maximum grant.

Jealotts Hill Community Landshare has come top in the customer voting.

Customers of local stores to our Warfield based location were given a token at the check out each time they shop, to cast their vote for the group that should bag the top grant.

Voting was open from October 31st to November 13th at the following Tesco stores – Forest Park, Martins Heron, Warfield, Ascot High Street, Greenwood and Wokingham.
